Barack’s first visit to Kenya in 1987 is an Obama family photo that includes: his half-sister, 

Auma; her mother, Kezia Obama; his step-grandmother, Sarah Hussein Onyango Obama; 

his half-brother, Abongo (Roy) Obama; and Roy’s brother, Abo.

Dinner with His Family

Here we see senator Obama reuniting with family members at a hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. 

He looks very happy to be with his loved ones.

President Obama returned to Kenya in 2006 as the senator from Illinois, where he 

again met his grandmother, Sarah. Grandma looks very proud of her grandson.

President Obama’s love of basketball has its roots in his Hawaii high school team.

If you didn’t believe us before, here’s the official proof! In 2006, the President was 

asked if he’d ever used marijuana. “I inhaled frequently,” Obama conceded, “that was 

the point.” Hiiiit iiit!

Kenya Welcomes Obama

For three years, Barack Obama worked with the people of Chicago’s South Side. 

He helped find ways to bring jobs, stability, money and power to those who felt most 

oppressed.

The President shed some tears while watching Aretha Franklin preform. After all, 

it WAS a very moving concert.
